1-year-old boy dead following drowning in Buckeye

PHOENIX — A 1-year-old Buckeye boy who was rushed to a local hospital last week following a drowning has died, authorities said Monday.
First responders rushed the boy to the hospital last Sunday at around 1:20 p.m., the Buckeye Fire Department said.
Fire personnel were called to a residence near West Superior Avenue, where they found the child unresponsive and receiving CPR from family members.
It was unknown how long the child was in the water.
Authorities said there was no pool fence on the property.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
