PHOENIX — A two-vehicle crash in Phoenix Friday night resulted in one man’s death after he suffered critical injuries, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department arrived at the crash site near Thomas Road and 73rd Lane at about 7:45 p.m. An adult male, identified as 41-year-old Kruger Alexis Marenco Montecino, was pulled from a blue sedan and transported to a hospital where they were pronounced dead from their injuries.
Detectives of Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes determined the truck of an unidentified 24-year-old man collided with the sedan which was attempting to turn left onto westbound Thomas Road from northbound 73rd Lane.
Witness testimony revealed the truck was traveling at a high speed and did not have its headlights turned on.
Authorities evaluated the truck driver for impairment and processed him on DUI related charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
