“It’s actually good,” seems to be the most common reaction, a suggestion that previous Superman movies weren’t. And I do mean all of them! Yes, even the original. And before you say it, it has nothing to do with the weak special effects and everything to do with the extreme level of corniness: At one point, Lois Lane provides a poem of her thoughts as she flies about in Superman’s arms. It wasn’t even a good poem.

Admittedly, I have yet to see director Christopher Nolan’s version of the Man of Steel. I will, and mainly because I’m anxious to see if it will crack my personal list of best superhero moves of all time, which happens to be this week’s topic for The Five.
