Main Street Minute: Bagel chain hiring part-time help

• A San Francisco-based investment firm shelled out more than $90 million for apartment complexes in Tempe and Avondale. Fowler Property Acquisitions bought the Mirabella apartments near Indian School and El Mirage roads as well as the 505 West complex near Baseline and Kyrene roads.
• Einstein Bros Bagels is hiring in Phoenix. The popular bagel company is looking for more than a couple dozen part-time employees.
• American Airlines is expected to announce plans to spend $2 billion on upgrades over the next two years. American, which merged with US Airways a year ago, plans to install new seats and power outlets on Boeing 757s and Airbus 319s and install 400 new gate area kiosks.
