Main Street Minute: Software center opens in suburban Phoenix

• A California-based software company has opened a solution center in the Valley. VMware has partnered with Tempe-based Insight to house a demonstration center where customers can learn how the software uses cloud services to work on their desktop and mobile devices. VMware has a number of large accounts in Arizona, including school districts.
• A Florida-based company wants to build a large apartment complex in Tempe. Lennar Corporation has plans for a nearly 400-unit complex east of Arizona State University. The five-story development would be located near Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive, along the light-rail system. Construction on the $65 million project could start next year.
