Main Street Minute: UA to add to Phoenix medical campus

• The Maricopa Community Colleges system is hiring. Openings are for financial aid workers, web technicians, graphic designers and groundskeepers, among other positions.
• The University of Arizona is adding another building to its growing downtown Phoenix campus. The 10-story building near Seventh and Filmore streets will be used for medical research. The $136 million bioscience building will break ground at the end of the year, and is expected to bring 500 construction and design jobs.
• A new hotel and luxury apartment complex is being planned near Kierland Commons. The mixed-use development space at Scottsdale Road and the Greenway Hayden Loop, named Optima Center Kierland, will house almost 700 apartments and nearly 300 hotel rooms. No word when construction will begin, or the cost of the project.
