Main Street Minute: City of Phoenix kicks off summer heat relief efforts

• The City of Phoenix has kicked off its summer heat relief efforts. Phoenix is asking people to donate water bottles, sunscreen, clothing, insect repellent and snack items to help the homeless. Item can be donated to any of the city’s family services centers from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Through the Memorial Day weekend QuikTrip will be donating proceeds from its 32 ounce fountain drinks to the Folds of Honor foundation. Folds of Honor helps the families of fallen military members with scholarships and other financial needs. Just make sure to grab the special black Folds of Honor 32 ounce cup.
• The Queen Creek Unified School District is hiring for the upcoming school year. The district needs nurses, teachers and receptionists among other positions. You can apply online on the Queen Creek Unified School District website.
