Main Street Minute: Arizona wings chain goes international

May 13, 2014, 3:48 PM | Updated: 3:48 pm

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, businesses that are opening and events across the community. Each weekday these stories air on KTAR at 7:27 a.m. More information can be found below.

• A Valley restaurant chain is going international. Native Grill and Wings, formerly Native New Yorker, just signed a deal to open its first location in Cairo, Egypt in the fall. The deal will eventually include 24 more of the chain’s restaurants in Egypt and Dubai. The restaurants will still have a bar-and-grill concept, but because liquor sales are outlawed in Egypt, they’ll sell teas and other nonalcoholic drinks instead.

• It’s free cone day at local Haagen Dazs stores. Free scoops are available 4-8 p.m. There are two Valley locations, one at Biltmore Fashion Park at 25th Street and Camelback Road, and at Scottsdale Fashion Square, near Scottsdale and Camelback roads.
