Sing it: KTAR News plays prank on employees for April Fools’ Day

Here at KTAR News, we like to have a little fun with our employees, especially on April Fools Day — and this year was no exception.
This year, we pulled out all the stops and placed our staff to the ultimate test: film an award submission to the National Association of Broadcasters discussing the importance of community service.
However, it turned out it wasn’t that simple.
Radio host Pat McMahon sat down with several of our employees — including Cooper Rummell, Ryan Hatch, Mike Russell and Jayme West — and informed them that part of the submission required them to sing on-camera.
Some of the tunes included “My Country, ‘Tis Of Thee” and “Kumbaya My Lord.” In addition to singing, McMahon also asked our willing participants to explain several of the lyrics in the songs — to no avail.
Thanks to our employees for being such good sports and we hope you all have a great and prank-filled April Fools’ Day!
