Get ready for your air conditioning to work overtime again, because the upcoming weekend in the Valley is expected to be a hot one.
The thermometer at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport reached 90 degrees on Monday, March 16, for the first time in 2015, but a rainstorm later in the week brought temperatures down for several days.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s high in Phoenix is anticipated to be 92 degrees. Saturday is expected to reach 94 degrees, and Sunday’s high is supposed to be 92.
It gets a little better on Monday, as the high is expected to be only 87 degrees, but Tuesday is supposed to shoot up to about 90 once more.
If Saturday’s temperature does hit 94, it will be just 1 degree shy of the March 28 record in Phoenix, which was set in 1986, according to the National Weather Service. Last year’s high on the same day was just 79 degrees.
