It may be only March, but the sun is already making its presence felt in the greater Phoenix area.
The National Weather Service Phoenix announced Monday afternoon that the thermometer hit 90 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for the first time all year.

The Weather Channel predicted last week that March 11 could be the first day in Phoenix to hit the 90-degree mark, so residents technically got five days of reprieve until the temperature climbed that high.
The NWS Phoenix noted that the record for March 16 is actually 99 degrees, and that the Valley should see cooler temperatures by the middle of this week.
