GLENDALE, Ariz. — A man believed to be linked to more 60 Valley burglaries was arrested Tuesday. Glendale police and undercover detectives observed the suspect burglarizing a local bakery and café in the city of Surprise.

The Glendale Police Department said that 52-year old David Kirby Womack used his 11-year old stepson as a “lookout” during the burglary before attempting to elude detectives at a high rate of speed.

Womack, an El Mirage resident, was eventually apprehended after ditching his vehicle and his stepson near his mobile home residence. Detectives were able to take both individuals into custody safely and without incident.

Womack was booked into 4th Avenue Jail and charged with two counts of felony burglary and one count of child abuse for intentionally placing the health and well-being of his stepson in jeopardy.

More charges could follow pending an investigation into Womack’s connection to burglaries reported to have taken place in Glendale, Surprise, Peoria, Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale, with combined stolen property value reaching thousands of dollars.
