PHOENIX — Border agents and Arizona highway patrol officers teamed up to confiscate nearly 19,000 pounds of marijuana in drug busts this week.
Customs agents made the biggest haul, finding 12,397 pounds of pot in a tractor trailer at the Nogales station Wednesday. The department said it was the third-largest bust in Arizona port history.
The street value was estimated at $6 million. Another bust the next day totaled over 2,000 pounds that had been brought in by 42 people.
A Department of Public Safety officer made a traffic stop Thursday and ended up seizing about 4,300 pounds of marijuana.
