March Madness may come and go, but a doggy companion is fur-ever.
This weekend, HALO Animal Rescue is celebrating March Madness with adoption specials on all Chihuahuas over a year in age.
The homeless dogs will be available for $80 and lower during the event.
“Last year alone, HALO found homes for more than 7,000 pets,” said Heather Allen, president and CEO of HALO Animal Rescue, in a release.
Oragnizers hope to help bring more awareness to the quantity of homeless Chihuahuas — HALO’s shelter is made up of over 40 percent of the popular breed.
The March Madness promotion is available at all three HALO Animal Rescue adoption facilities across the Valley: HALO’s main shelter at 2500 S. 27th Avenue; Metro Mall Adoption Center at 9617 N. Metro Parkway West; and PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center at 2901 W. Agua Fria Freeway.
Chihuahuas, as well as dogs of all sizes, and cats, will be available for adoption at all three locations.
The first 60 people to participate will also receive a basketball toy.
