PHOENIX — A minor league ballplayer was arrested on assault charges in metro Phoenix over the weekend, accused of knocking out his girlfriend with a rock.

Glendale Police took Cincinnati Reds prospect Tanner Rahier, 21, into custody Saturday morning, reported the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The Reds play in Goodyear during spring training.
Police said Rahier and his girlfriend argued outside restaurant near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road and that the ballplayer began throwing rocks at her.
Rahier fled the scene but was tracked down by officers.
