53-year-old man killed in Phoenix homicide

Police are actively trying to identify and locate two suspects in a homicide case in Phoenix.
On Feb. 27 at approximately 8:30 p.m., police said a resident in the area of 2000 West Monroe Street reported an “in progress” burglary at her home. When police arrived, they found a shooting had occurred within the home and the suspects had fled.
Police investigation revealed that the two suspects entered the home and got into two separate confrontations with two adult male residents. One, 53-year-old Jack Moriarty, was shot and killed and the second man sustained minor injury. The suspects then stole some personal property and fled.
One of the suspects is described as a white male in his 40s, 5-foot-8 with a stocky build and stringy brown hair and no facial hair. He was wearing dark clothes.
The other suspect is described as a black make between 20 and 40 years old, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds and wearing dark clothing and a dark “beanie” cap.
