Unique pizza joint opens in Phoenix

PHOENIX — When it comes to pizza, there is never enough, a statement echoed in Phoenix’s growing pizza market.

Classic Crust Pizza, owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Alex and Angie Geiger, officially opened Monday, Phoenix Business Journal reported.

The restaurant, located at 2150 E. Cactus Road, offers hand-tossed New York-style pizza using recipes from executive chef Alex Geiger and general manager Michael Johnson.

Geiger and Johnson began cooking pizza in a wood-fired oven on the back of a 1957 Dodge pickup and quickly found themselves looking for a physical restaurant location.

Classic Crust is open seven days a week.
