The New England Patriots took home the title but Phoenix hotels were the biggest winners of Super Bowl week in Arizona.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, occupancy rates topped out at 96 percent the night before the big game.
And the week leading up to the game saw a 318 percent increase in revenue available per room. According to Michael Mooney, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Visit Phoenix, this was an unprecedented number even by 2008’s Super Bowl (185 percent).
Friday and Saturday’s combined occupancy rate was 94 percent.
The boost likely comes from the state’s decision to extend Super Bowl events across multiple cities in Arizona, including Glendale and Scottsdale.
