Thousands expected at food truck festival in Scottsdale this weekend

There’s going to be a lot of fun and a lot of food in Scottsdale this weekend. It will happen during the 4th annual Street Eats Food Truck Festival at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

“We have 60 food trucks, which makes it one of the largest food truck events in the Southwest,” said Dave Dunne, the general manager at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

He said some well known trucks will be there.

“The Maine Lobster Lady food truck is one of the big hits. There’s a truck called ‘Devilicious’ that is a big hit. We’ve got dessert trucks that have great cupcakes and ice cream. We have great barbecue trucks that come out,” Dunne said.

Which one is Dunne’s favorite?

“I’m really partial to the Maine Lobster Lady,” he said. “Get there early, because she’s always got a line. But it’s a fantastic lobster roll.”

You can also learn something about cooking while you’re there.

“The subzero Wolf kitchen area will be there, and we’ll have cooking demonstrations throughout the day,” said Dunne.

There will also be live entertainment. The band Whiskey’s Quicker, featuring Dan Bickley, is the headline act (Bickley is the co-host of the Bickley and Marotta show on Arizona Sports 98-7 FM).

The food truck festival happens on Saturday and Sunday. For tickets and more information, go to
