PHOENIX — With the number of millennials projected to surpass the amount of baby boomers this year, securing a job seems to get more difficult by the day.
On Monday, NerdWallet.com released its list of “Best Cities for Millennial Job Seekers in Arizona,” highlighting the top ten cities in the state with the best opportunity for securing a job.
NerdWallet determined that millennials are workers ranging from ages 18 to 34 in the year 2015, according to a Pew Research Center study.
The top three Arizona cities consisted of Chandler, Scottsdale and Tempe, with Phoenix checking in at No. 4.
Flagstaff, Douglas, Tucson, Sierra Vista, Sahuarita and Prescott rounded out the list.
The factors considered in comprising the list included unemployment rate, median rent costs and the amount of millennials who live in the area.
The report found that smaller cities tend to have the most growth, with Douglas, Sahuarita and Prescott all growing over 10 percent since 2010.
NerdWallet credited technological jobs, a rich culture and affordable housing as attractive offers for millennials to live in the Valley.
According to the website, Arizona has held its own after taking a hit from the 2008 recession, adding over 63,000 jobs last year alone.
