PHOENIX — Authorities evacuated a rural area in Mesa on Wednesday after artillery shells and other possible munitions were found at a steel recycling plant.
Police sent a robot to give the shells a closer look.
Workers spotted the
items in a pile of scrap metal at CMC Steel Arizona.
The plant is on Germann Road past Gateway Airport.
