Gas prices in Arizona will rise slightly for springtime, but still cheap

PHOENIX — There is good news at the gas pump for drivers in Arizona: This should be the cheapest spring in over 10 years.
Tom Kloza with Oil Price Information Service said he believed Arizonans will be paying around $2 per gallon or less for the rest of the year.
Prices haven’t been this low since 2004.
“We’re seeing the great flush of winter gasoline right now. Most of the year, if I were betting the over under in Vegas, people will be able to pay less than $2,” Kloza said.
“The government is projecting that the national average will be $1.87 with occasional … mini spikes. The only things that would make it a not cheap year would be refinery events, hurricanes, earthquakes.”
Triple A Arizona reported the statewide average for regular unleaded was $1.57 per gallon.
Nationally, prices have jumped 7 cents a gallon over the past two weeks.
The lowest was found in Tucson, where it was $1.33 a gallon.
In comparison, gas in California’s Bay Area was about $2.42 per gallon.
