Police searching for suspect in Valley homicide case

Dec 26, 2014, 9:34 AM | Updated: 9:34 am

Phoenix Police are searching for the suspect in a homicide case — a shooting on Dec. 24.

Police say the victim, 29-year-old Delmarc Forrester, was shot while standing out in front of his house on Tamarisk Avenue in Phoenix.

The suspect in the case is 33-year-old Louis Davis. He is described as a 6-foot, 160-pound black male who may be driving a white 1992 Buick Roadmaster with Arizona plates ARF6934.

Forrester and his girlfriend allegedly went to pick up the latter’s 6-year-old daughter from Davis, who is the child’s father. There was reportedly then a dispute over holiday visitation.

Davis then threatened to “shoot up” the victim’s house via a phone call with the victim and his girlfriend. The victim armed himself with a large knife and waited outside, according to police.

The suspect arrived at the home and got out of his car armed with a handgun, according to police. The victim was shot standing in front of his residence and later died at a nearby hospital.

Police say the suspect and his ex-girlfriend fought over the gun, but the suspect retained the weapon and fled. He is believed to have ties in California.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department’s Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

We want to hear from you.
