PHOENIX — “The Interview,” a controversial comedy about a fictional assassination plot against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, will be screened at a Harkins theater in the Phoenix area on Thursday.
The film, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, will be shown at Harkins Valley Art in downtown Tempe.
Film Bar in Phoenix said it is working to show the film, but it would screen after the holiday.
The Loft Cinema in Tucson and the Uptown 3 Theatre in Sierra Vista have
announced a limited run starting Thursday of the Sony Pictures comedy that has
ignited an international incident with North Korea.
Ultrastar Havasu 10 in Lake Havasu City will also screen “The Interview” on
Christmas.
The film’s original release, also scheduled for Thursday, was canceled for a short time after production company Sony was hacked, supposedly by North Korea. The small nation is upset over the film’s plot.
It was announced Tuesday the film was given the go-ahead by Sony.
