The 10 highest-rated movies of 2014 on IMDb

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is a one-stop place to learn just about everything you’d ever want to know about any film or television show you can think of.
When visiting the site, users have a chance to rate any movie or TV program on a 1-10 scale.
IMDb recently released a list of the 10 best user-rated films that debuted in 2014. The list includes sci-fi, action-adventure, drama and animated flicks, and it even features a comedy and a foreign crime thriller.
Some of these films may see their IMDb score drop a bit once they’re released on DVD, but for now, they are all sitting quite pretty with ratings of 8.0 or better. Keep in mind, only three movies all-time — “The Shawshank Redemption”, “The Godfather” and “The Godfather: Part II” — have been able to maintain a score of 9.0 or better on the site.
The top 10 movies of 2014, according to IMDb users, are featured below, along with their scores as of Dec. 13.
