PHOENIX — If you’re looking to get signed up for 2015 insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act, you might want to act quickly.
“If you want to be enrolled by Jan. 1 to have your coverage, you want to do it by Dec. 15,” said U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell.
She offered some advice for those wanting to enroll.
“Make sure (your) information is updated, shop and compare, and enroll,” Burwell said. “That way (enrollees) can make sure that they have the plan that is best for them in terms of benefits, as well as in terms of financial assistance.”
Burwell said those who signed up last year could save money by re-enrolling and shopping around.
“Seventy-two percent of the folks that are on the marketplace in Arizona — if they come back in and shop — can find premiums that are $100 or less,” she said.
Burwell said the government hopes to have 9 million Americans signed up in the new year. More information is available at www.healthcare.gov.
