Suburban Phoenix mom’s super saving ways score spot on TV show

PHOENIX — Nothing says Christmas turkey feast like a main course of chicken. And other meats.

In an effort to feed over 40 guests for $100, Mesa mom Shelley Watson went all mad scientist on Thursday’s night episode of “Extreme Cheapskates” on TLC.

Watson created “churkey” — chicken, ground meat and turkey legs, together — to serve to a houseful of people.

Well, it’s … er… creative.

Watson and her family have been on the show before, in an episode last year, in which she budgeted $1,000 for daughter Ashley’s wedding.
