Shooting in Scottsdale sends 1 to hospital

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A late-night shooting left a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he allegedly got into a fight with a bystander.
Scottsdale Police said a woman was confronted by her ex-boyfriend at her apartment Monday night at 70th Street and Thomas Road. She escaped and went to a neighbor’s for help.
The neighbor let her in, and the ex-boyfriend followed her and got into a fight with the neighbor.
The neighbor pulled out a gun and shot the other man.
Police said the neighbor was afraid for his life and that it was unlikely the shooter would face charges.
“… Seems like he was trying to help somebody and it spilled into his home,” Officer Kevin Watts said.
