18-year-old local singer killed in Gilbert car crash

18-year-old Keli Rutledge died in a car crash Friday night in Gilbert.
According to police, Rutledge was driving and was hit by another driver. Police are saying that impairment might have been a factor for the other driver.
Rutledge was taken to the hospital, but died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
The other driver, 26-year-old Emilio Deleon, was also taken to the hospital. There is no update at this time on his condition.
Rutledge finished in the top five of the Arizona Idol competition as a freshman in high school according to her Facebook page. She had at least three public shows scheduled for March, including one at Songbird Coffee & Tea House.
