Possible gunman puts two Scottsdale schools on lockdown

PHOENIX — Two Scottsdale, Ariz. schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday after a person with a gun was reported nearby.
Desert Mountain High School and Mountainside Middle School are on lockdown. Subject with a gun reported in the area. More to come.

The lockdown was lifted about 3 p.m.
Police said they received a 911 call that a man in his 40s with brown hair and a black jacket was walking toward the school with what appeared to be a black handgun.
An investigation revealed the man was a construction worker using a soldering gun.
