Possible gunman puts two Scottsdale schools on lockdown

PHOENIX — Two Scottsdale, Ariz. schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday after a person with a gun was reported nearby.

The lockdown was lifted about 3 p.m.

Police said they received a 911 call that a man in his 40s with brown hair and a black jacket was walking toward the school with what appeared to be a black handgun.

An investigation revealed the man was a construction worker using a soldering gun.
