PHOENIX — Two Valley police departments are searching for a man believed to have been involved in multiple sexual assault cases since 2012.
The suspect most recently sexually assaulted was an elderly woman in her home near Southern Avenue and Rural Road in Tempe on Oct. 18. He was also linked to a January 2012 sexual assault in Mesa by DNA evidence.
Since that time, several witnesses have reported a man fitting the suspect’s description exposing and touching himself at apartment complexes in the same area.
The incidents have primarily occurred between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. in apartment complexes along Southern Avenue between Alma School Road and Rural Road. The victims have all been white females over the age of 45.
The suspect is a black male with a lighter complexion who is between 20-30 years old. He is approximately 6 feet tall with a thin/athletic build. His hair, which was reported to be a shorter afro when he was first reported in 2012, has grown over time and he is currently thought to have loose braids about 2-3 inches long.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
