PHOENIX — In honor of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Chandler Police Department is performing a warrant sweep to pick up outstanding domestic violence offenders.

Detective Seth Tyler said some officers will take on the task of serving outstanding Chandler warrants across the Valley.

“We’re going to have about four teams from our criminal investigations bureau and some patrol officers mixed in with that,” he said.

The officers will be out working to arrest offenders on Monday and Tuesday, Tyler said.

“We’re going to try and serve as many as possible,” he said. “We have a number of outstanding warrants for domestic violence, unfortunately.”

Tyler said those who might think they have an outstanding warrant to call the Chandler City Court and take care of the offense ahead of time, rather than being arrested by police.

“It’s always best to get it handled on your own terms,” he said.

The Chandler City Court can be reached at 480-782-4700.

We want to hear from you.
