Report: Canadian man creates revenge website to target Arizona ex-wife

Feb 25, 2016, 8:30 AM | Updated: 12:13 pm

PHOENIX — A Canadian man has created a “revenge website” that targets his ex-wife in Arizona, according to New York Daily News.

Desiree Capuano, an Arizona woman, said her ex-husband Patrick Fox, who recently changed his name from Richard Ruess, created desireecapuano.com in an effort to destroy her life.

Capuano first found the site in March 2014, after a co-worker approached her about a website on which she advertises herself as a “stripper and drug addict,” according to the article. It has been up since January 2014.

Not only does the website contain all of Capuano’s personal details and private photos, but also features stories calling her a “child abuser, a white supremacist, a narcissist and just an all-around bad person.”

Capuano took her issues to Arizona authorities, who said they could not take down the website because it is classified as free speech.

GoDaddy, the company which the site is hosted on, removed the site, but Capuano said it resurfaced a few days later on Fox’s private server.

“He’s told everybody he will not stop, all of this will not make him stop,” she said in an interview with the Daily News. “There’s no law to tell him he’s got to.”

In an interview with Canadian news site CBC, Fox said he created the website in order to destroy her life.

“I would devote the rest of my life, doing everything that I could, legally of course, to ruin her life and destroy her,” he said.

Fox has also taken out Google Ads for the website in Capuano’s neighborhood and threatened to hire a man to have sex with the woman in order to post naked pictures of her online.

The most amount of protection Capuano was granted was an order of protection to stop his “harassing emails,” according to the article. Capuano said Fox has hacked her LinkedIn account and sent the website to 650 of her co-workers.

Capuano and Fox have been at war since 2002, over a custody battle for their son. Fox was deported to Canada in 2009 after lying about his citizen status.
