PHOENIX — A corporate giant is giving back across Arizona.
Wal-Mart has handed over $581,000 to 18 Arizona agencies primarily helping the homeless and working poor.
“There’s different ceremonies taking place just like this one in Tucson, Casa Grande and in Bullhead City,” said Pedro Andrade, Wal-Mart’s local director of operations.
In Phoenix, a grant presentation took place Wednesday at The Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s main dining hall at 420 W. Watkins Road. The organization was awarded $60,000, which will be used to feed thousands who rely on the nonprofit for hot meals and bagged lunches.
