Gilbert ranked one of US’ most livable cities

PHOENIX — The number of cows in Gilbert, Ariz. no longer outnumbers the number of people.

Gilbert may have only had a population of 5,187 in 1980, but Time Money has just ranked the city as No. 22 on its list of “Best Places to Live” after a three-decade population spurt into a 218,338-person city.

According to Time, “health jobs are big in the area”, and “at only [5 percent], Gilbert already has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Arizona.” Gilbert also holds the 4th-lowest average property taxes of the 781 cities reviewed.
