Nonprofit organization Campus Pride has released a list of the 50 most LGBT-friendly higher education institutions in the U.S., and Arizona has one university in the field.
Flagstaff’s Northern Arizona University made the cut, as Mashable points out, and is right up there with colleges like Dartmouth, Oregon State, Indiana and Ohio State, among others.
Campus Pride used an index of research tools to assess each institution’s policies, programs and practices that work toward an inclusive and safe environment for LGBT and heterosexual ally students.
A wide range of institutions from Ivy League universities like Harvard and Brown University to large state schools like Northern Arizona University and University of California, Los Angeles are among the many choices available to LGBT students looking at the next steps in their education.
Campus Pride did not give rankings to each of the schools, it just pared down all of them to the 50 best. Click here to see the rest of the colleges on the list.
