PHOENIX — A flight from San Jose to Phoenix was diverted to Los Angeles on Thursday after the pilot declared an emergency.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said American Airlines Flight 564 landed and taxied normally late Thursday morning and firefighters were not needed.
Airport spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado said a mechanical problem was reported aboard the plane, which had 130 people aboard.
The airline said it had a maintenance team inspecting the aircraft and is working to get passengers to Phoenix as quickly as possible.
