PHOENIX — Federal authorities seized nearly a quarter-million dollars worth of methamphetamine in two stops of trucks crossing the border this week.
Each time the vehicles were stopped at the Nogales station because of detection dogs’ reactions.
Customs and Border Protections said a stop of a pickup truck Tuesday morning uncovered 27½ pounds of meth valued at about $82,500.
On Monday, officers found 39 pounds of the drug in the front and back seats of a pickup. The cache was estimated to be worth $117,000.
