On Tuesday night’s “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart spoke of the 52,000 children from Central America who have been detained trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border since October, most of them escaping poverty and violence in their countries.
Of course, he couldn’t have done it better.
He mocks the anti-immigration protestors for yelling at children “in a language they don’t understand,” and tells all those who want to deport minors currently in custody at the border, “what the [expletive] is wrong with you?”
He ends by saying,” Lady Liberty may be a beacon of those yearning to breathe free but the truth is, she’s actually a bouncer.”
