PHOENIX — The dog who went missing from the suburban Gilbert pet-care boarding where 20 other dogs died of apparent heat exhaustion last month, was found dead Saturday morning.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the missing dog, a two-year-old German shepherd mix named Valor, was discovered near Zanjero Park — three miles away from Green Acre Dog Boarding.
At a news conference Saturday night, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said that Valor had been hit by a car before being discovered by a cyclist.
