Main Street Minute: Companies at Scottsdale job fair could hire on the spot

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• Hundreds of job opportunities are available at a hiring event Thursday in Scottsdale. It runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Doubletree Resort near Scottsdale and Jackrabbit roads. Get ready for face-to-face interviews and a chance to be hired on the spot.
• Home Depot is looking to hire 1,600 employees for its 33 Valley stores. The home-improvement giant has openings for part and full time workers in distribution, operations and cashiers. Many of these positions are seasonal, but some could turn into permanent roles.
• Maricopa Corporate College has been awarded a $27,000 grant for interns to its upcoming IT boot camp. The funding will support modest stipends for students participating in the program as well as the salary for an industry coordinator.
