PHOENIX — A knife-wielding homeless man is in custody after allegedly
making threatening statements in the lobby of the Maricopa County Jail in
County sheriff’s officials said Wednesday that 33-year-old Jesse Bustos Arce is
being held in the jail’s psychiatric unit.
He was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
Sheriff’s officials say Arce was visiting the jail and went into the men’s
bathroom of the Fourth Avenue Jail.
They say he exited the bathroom brandishing two knives and making threatening
When Arce refused orders to drop the weapons, jail officials say a detention
officer used a stun gun to subdue him.
It was unclear Wednesday if Arce has a lawyer yet.
