PHOENIX — A Valley non-profit is collecting supplies and clothing for pets of the homeless or runaway children.
“Many of the youth we work with are literally living on the street,” said Kenneth McKinnley of Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development. “Many of them have companions and they are really struggling with the hot pavement.”
The animals turn up with serious burns and bleeding as a result of the scorching pavement. For that reason, the organization is asking the community to consider donating dog booties to help these dogs in need and to provide peace of mind to the homeless youth that care for them.
