SURPRISE, Ariz. — Three charred bodies found this week in the back of a
burned pickup truck in a remote area of Surprise still haven’t been identified.
Surprise police said autopsies were scheduled Thursday, but because of the condition
of the bodies, the causes of death may not be immediately determined.
The case remains classified as an arson with the deaths of the three
by suspicious circumstances.
Police received a call around 2:45 p.m. Monday about a vehicle on fire in the
area of 219th Avenue and Sun Valley Parkway.
After the fire was extinguished, police spokesman Sgt. Mike Donovan said the
bodies were found in the truck.
