PHOENIX — A camera will be permitted in the courtroom during the penalty phase of the Jodi Arias, a judge ruled Tuesday.
However, Judge Sherry Stephens ruled the camera will only be able to record the proceedings and none of the footage will be permitted to air until a verdict is reached.
Stephens had considered requests from Arias’ legal team that live footage would interfere with her right to both a fair trial and an impartial jury.
Arias’ next court appearance is scheduled for July 1.
