Maricopa officer arrested in domestic dispute

MARICOPA, Ariz. — A police officer from the city of Maricopa was arrested
on allegations that he pushed his wife during a domestic dispute and caused her
to suffer a wrist injury.

The police department for the city in Pinal County says 41-year-old Officer
Joshua Boyd was booked on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct and criminal
damage charges.

The agency says Boyd pushed his wife during the dispute Sunday afternoon and
caused her to fall to the floor and injure her right wrist.

Police also say Boyd assaulted his wife’s 14-year-old son as he tried to
protect his mother.

The injuries to the boy and his mother were described as minor.

There was no phone listed for Boyd.

Boyd will be placed on paid administrative leave while an internal affairs
investigation is conducted.
