PHOENIX — Border Patrol agents seized a large amount of cocaine worth about $300,000 on the border of Arizona and Mexico on Tuesday, the agency said in a release.
The load was allegedly transported by a 33-year-old Mexican national who attempted to enter the U.S. at the border checkpoint in Nogales. The tractor-trailer was selected by agents for additional inspection.
A search of the vehicle turned up nearly 29 pounds of cocaine hidden in a customized compartment.
The drugs and truck were seized by agents.
The truck driver may be charged.
