PHOENIX — FedEx Ground has broken ground in Chandler.
The shipping company is slated to open a new 302,000-square-foot package distribution center at the Chandler Air Park in August 2015, the East Valley Tribune reported.
The facility will be the Valley’s fourth and is slated to produce 200 jobs.
“This facility will allow us to handle the growth we’ve seen in the southeast Valley,” said Michael Vickers, FedEx Ground district director. “Its location gives us a foothold in our expansion.”
The company also chose the Chandler location because the area continues to grow in population.
FedEx Ground’s Valley hub is located in Phoenix but also has hubs in the West Valley and Tempe.
