Build and conquer: UA students compete in campus engineering contest

PHOENIX — Hundreds of students at the University of Arizona will show off their scienctific know-how next week at Engineering Design Day on the Tucson campus.
The 64 projects on display Tuesday at the Student Union Memorial Center will include search-and-rescue drones, race cars, robot lawnmowers, smartphone apps and a resistance suit for astronauts.
Teams are competing for more than $14,000 in prize money.
The College of Engineering event is scheduled for 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with the awards ceremony held immediately afterward.
