PHOENIX — Paul McCartney will return to Arizona after a four-year absence with his “Out There” tour in the summer.
The music legend will stop at US Airways on Aug. 12. Tickets will go on sale May 5 at ticketmaster, livenation.com and the arena ticket office.
The addition of Phoenix was announced Monday.
The U.S. portion of his world tour is scheduled to kick off June 14 in Lubbock, Texas. That show and four others at the tour’s start are sold.
The Phoenix show marks the second-to-last stop. McCartney’s travels will end in San Francisco on Aug. 14 at Candlestick, site of the Beatles’ last concert in August 1966.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer last played the Valley in March 2010, at Jobing.com Arena.
